There have understandably been many inquiries recently about the routes for Vuokatti Hiihto skiing marathon. It seems that we will not be able to ski the original Vaarankylä track, but we are working hard to find the best possible route for the participants right up to the last moment. To move forward with the arrangements, the final route must be confirmed by Friday, January 31st, and we will publish the final route maps on that date.
What is certain is that Vuokatti Hiihto will take place, and we will be able to prepare high-quality trails on a route of a very reasonable length. The so-called lowland trails will be skied as usual, and in addition, the plan is to include the Katinkulta track and the upper loop on the Vuokatti hills. For the upper loop, the current plan is to ski the Porttivaara track, which is considered by many to be the most beautiful route in the Vuokatti trail network.
According to today’s inspection, there is good snow coverage up in the hills, and the base trail grooves will be groomed by the snowcat in the coming days. We are confident that we can offer Vuokatti Skiers an enjoyable event with excellent skiing conditions!
Welcome!
